You have to be careful, and aware there are a lot of weirdos out there. However, you may find yourself with someone who is really wonderful. Love can happen, I know.
God bless you, and good luck.
Ps. Just watch out for any red flags.

I don't advise any kind of dating nowadays because (not trying to sound like a frumpy old maid) but its a universal trend that every date leads to sex. I am a muslim and I don't really have a concept of dating simply because I think it isn't proper and should only take place in the presence of a friend or family member. But muslims do believe that when we decide to look for a marriage partner, we should really get to know the person as well as their family and basic lifestyle.
I found my husband of three years from an internet match making service for muslims and we corresponded for several months, talked on the phone, sent pictures and spoke with each others family. I never saw him face to face because we wanted a very conservative and traditional engagement and arranged marriage. Our marriage is a complete success. We have a very close relationship, share the same beliefs and future goals, and we have a daughter and are expecting another child in May. My husband is in the US Army E-4 and we have a great life together. So I guess my answer is yes! It is very possible that you can meet your life partner from the internet. But you should be very wise and careful about how you approach it.

I have not had much luck with internet dating, except met one friend of the opposite gender through it. I have been doing online dating on and off for the past 5 years, but for me I want to keep optimistic that I'll find the right man. The one I lasted more than a year with ended up not being ready for anything long-term. He passed himself off as separated and told the wife it was over after he had already met me. When I found out after a few months that she was told after the fact, I was already hooked. He was dishonest to the both of us. Needless to say, there are a lot of questionable characters out there. Just be careful and ask the right questions. I am intelligent, educated, have a lot to offer, yet still single. Hope you have better luck with it.

It was a gamble 22 yrs ago and it still is. You never know who or whats on the other end of that computer. Exchanging photos is no guarantee that the photos are real, the person talking to you is real...
Meet in a public place so you can get away. Don't give them your home address or phone number. Don't let them get in your car.
BE CAREFUL....weirdo's are everywhere these days...the internet just seems safe because the other person can't touch you, but when he can, then the safety factor is gone.

My parents met through online dating. To me tough, for right now, i'm avoiding internet dating, cause i think is stupid. It's like u can't really get date in real life or something. But you can try just to spice up your life little bit. Be careful tough. There are creepy guys out there that pretend to like u n' tell u beautiful and all.

Dangerous. There are plenty real life people to date. One that you can see in person, and find out who they really are. Internet dating, could be a totally opposite person than what they are saying they are. Be Careful.

It's a numbers game. You win some, you lose some. Depends on your goal. If it's just dating, and for fun.. no problem. If its more, you might have to go for a lot more dates to find the right guy.
And ladies, always meet in public spaces and never give your home address.. unless you want to be stalked.

Internet dating is wonderful if you know what you are looking for, learn how to screen people out, and you are safe about what you are doing. Yes, there are surprises, but the risks outweigh the benefits if you know what you are doing. I found two incredible girlfriends and one wife online. All three of them are well above average in every way. And I found them just sitting in my room watching television and typing!

It's okay if you are truthful and don't play games.
You have to be very careful and don't give out personal information until you really know someone. Give it time and talk on the phone, etc.
I met my husband on Christianet.com. We dated and talked and dated and talked and married almost 3 years ago. We were both widowed and we agree this marriage was better than the 1st one.
Good luck!

it could go either way. i did the yahoo personals. there is a lot of trash out there and you just have to be careful. a lot out there are just after one thing. so be careful. if you meet him/her for a date, make sure you drive yourself and meet someplace where there are a lot of people. get to know that person before you go to his/her house. i used the yahoo personals about 2 years ago and had some doozies....i was just about to give it up because i lost all hope. but then i answered this one last add. i really thought that it would be just like the rest of them. i really did it for the last laugh. but it turned out good.....we were married recently in april and now we are expecting our first baby in may. so i got lucky and could not ask for a better person. there are a few good ones left....you just have to look and be careful..
