As I recall, both the time it existed, coupled with it's narrow frame, causes scientists to postulate that the species is closely related to and proceeds the homoerectus. But it also has characteristics similar to species which proceeded it.

there are no evidence of transitional fossils (a fossil between one species and another). Evolutionists have admitted this many times. Otherwise they would be finding millions of them.
