Any cream of soup that you like.
chicken, celery etc.
It depends on the recipe also but you may be able to use a cheese soup. Whichever matches best with the flavors in your recipe.

Anytime a recipe calls for a "Cream of..." chicken, mushroom or celery soup, they're interchangeable. If the recipe calls for two cans, I usually use two different soups. (The cream of celery adds a nice flavor even if it doesn't sound appealing!) This from someone who has taken advanced cooking lessons but likes the easy stand-by comfort recipes from time to time.
I"ve found that any meat tastes better in the crockpot if it is browned first. Removing chicken skin is also a good idea as it turns rubbery.
Happy cooking and bon appetit!
Happy New Year

Hi, You substitute mushroom soup for any kind of soup. You can make sause yourself. Try this in a pan heat up a cup milk add about a table spoon of butter (or what ever you got) If you don't have any butter type products you can use a little cooking oil. Now keep the heat low so you don't burn the milk. In a seperate container mix about a 2 tablespoon of corn starch with about twice as much cold water. Mix it up pretty good, when the milk is hot add the corn starch, mix for about 5-7 more minutes. Add you seasonings you like. Chicken bouillon, garlic, pepper. You get the idea. I know it sounds like a lot of work and time.Once you done it a couple of times it takes about ten minutes. You can add just about any thing to this base. You can add in the dripping from a roast or whatever makes great gravy too. Try it you can brag you made it from scratch.

Here's the cream base recipes. You could add celery, broccoli, etc. if you want. The mushrooms mostly add flavor and moisture.
INGREDIENTS:
2 c. instant non-fat dry milk
2 tbsp. onion flakes
1 tsp. basil and thyme
1/4 c. chicken bouillon
3/4 c. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. pepper
PREPARATION:
To reconstitute for one can soup add 1/3 cup mix with 1 1/4 cup water. You can add celery or broccoli for cream of celery soup same for mushroom soup. Heat until thick as soup. Makes 3 cups or 9 cans soups.
INGREDIENTS:
1 tablespoon butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
1/2 cup low-fat or fat free milk
salt and pepper to taste
PREPARATION:
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir in flour; keep stirring until smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat and add the chicken broth and milk, a little at a time, stirring to keep smooth.

Cream of anything else soup. Cream of chicken is the most popular substitute, but you can use any other flavor you both like. Except maybe cream of shrimp.

well if it's just a mushroom issue, try cream-of-something-else (like chicken, broccoli, or corn). or you could use a liquid soup but just chuck some flour in there to thicken it up--try a tablespoon of flour per can you're replacing to start, then add more if it's not thick enough. i'm guessing here, so be careful.

Your bf is gonna be so excited that you cooked something for him he won't even realize the shroomies are there. But if you must, substitute cream of celery, asparagus, chicken, or broccoli. He'll love you no matter what.
