Well it depends upon the situation. Did you know that eating fatty foods at night mainly at dinner makes you fat especially when your sleeping? why because when you ate a lot of fatty stuff at night your body cannot process or breakdown the fats you've ingest. This is so because you don't spend any energy to do things So what the body does is store this excess fats converting them and allocating them in our body (FATS) Specifically around your belly region that is why sleeping is not a viable cause of loosing weight.

yes, only part of it is what people have said though. it does prevent snacking. it also sets your metpromises, please, liberals HATE roabolism, if u do not get enough sleep your body does things it shouldnt (produces things, changes metabolism, etc) its like not eating for a long time slows down metabolism..
u need 8 hours of sleep, small meals. lots of water. exercise.
and yes the lose loose bothers me when i see it too, but in this case you could say you are "loosing" the weight and letting it go free

Yep it does loose weight, but not a significant amount. In whatever activity one engages, we are burning calories. The amount of calories burnt is propertional to how vigorous the activity is. Even day-dreaming or like you mentioned sleeping, it uses energy, thus calories are being burnt. P.S but the calories burnt are so minimal, so if you're planning to lose weight, go exercise!

If you get a normal 8 hours of sleep it does, first off it keeps your metabolism from slowing down just like other people are saying. Plus it keeps you from becoming less active, because you have energy to do stuff.

Yes if you fall asleep early, you make less trips to the refridgerator... So I think in that way it would help to shed some pounds, but if you are a couch potatoe and just being lazy and napping inbetween snacks. I dont think sleeping is doing you any good.

For crying out loud, it's LOSE weight not LOOSE weight.
sheesh
to lose
1. (transitive) To cause (something) to cease to be in one's possession or capability due to unfortunate or unknown circumstances, events or reasons.
I lost the ten pound note. I must have dropped it.
He lost his hearing in the explosion.
She lost her position when the company was taken over.
---------------------------------
to loose
1. (transitive) To let loose, to free from restraints.
2. (transitive) To unfasten, to loosen.
3. (transitive) To make less tight, to loosen.
4. (intransitive) To let go.
and you can't lose weight while sleeping, cause the metabolic rate is reduced to repair the body, although having more muscle will generate a higher metabolic rate so you will burn more calories all the time.

Yes it does help- well-- more like it prevents you from gaining weight-- your metabolism slows down when you are sleep deprived and you also end up snacking more when you don't sleep--

well the idea is that you do burn calories while you sleep. and you don't eat while you sleep either. so there you go.
The whole loosing weight thing is based off burning more calories than you consume.
