How come people always try to tear down other's self esteem? I was called fat.
While I'm not skinny by any means, I'm not fat by any means either. Just normal sized.

Yeah, it did strike a small chord, because growing up I used to get random comments from my parents about my weight because my mother is like 100 pounds and I'm not. I thought it was over with and I hadn't heard anything negative in a few years.

Um, I think the f-word was probably too strong in this case. But some people are just mean-spirited by nature. They look for a weak spot in your armor and lash out...obviously they found yours.
Try to worry a little bit less about what other people think about how you look. Is there something making you unhappy? It seems like this "fat" comment struck a nerve.

those people that called you fat oviouisly have insecurities of their own. Some people need to bring others down to make themselves feel better. Just let it go and stand strong, you are no where close to fat.

i find that most people who resort to name calling are either jealous, insecure, or are in some way in competition with you and see you as a threat. taking this into consideration, i would take the comment with a grain of salt.
