I think i heard it was a bail bondsman that pays 90% of the bail if one pays them the 10%. They are gambling that you are going to show up for your court date so you don't get the 10% back. If you don't show up, they may turn into bounty hunters, so they can try to recoup their money off of you.

No they are looking for some one who has jumped bail and the bounty hunter will bring this person in for all or portion of the bail money. A bail boundsman puts up the money to bail someone out but they charge a very high fee for this.

No. A bounty hunter hunts down wanted fugitives and places them in the custody of Police and gets the posted reward.

Some do, but most work for bail bondsman. When they return they fugitive, they get paid.
