Not really

I have been doing regular exerc. for the past 20 years. Never missed my routine 3 or 4 times a week. It is a cycle. The parking lot is full for the first month at anytime of the day. The machines are occupied. By February, everything peters out. This phenomenon is a regular occurrence, and I am used to it.

But...............

No holier than thou attitude...now, now. At least they do something about their 'calorically challenged' status.

It is those TV addicts, sedantic, lackadaisical slobs who do not move from their favourite couch with beer in one hand and potato chips on the other are the one that I feel sorry for. They devour french fries and rare steak / hamburger that is supersized with lots of mayo.

They think it is the 'other guy' who will get all the diseases, slow brains and pot bellies.

Repeated messages in the media does not seem to percolate through to this kind of population. Short of dragging them by hand, there is no other way.............

I have no sympathy for them. They are responsible for what they do in their lives. They allowed themselves to become what they are. The only people I feel any sympathy for are the ones at the gym who will be burdened by these "calorically challenged" people, and the temporary inconvenience that they cause to those who are serious about staying in shape.

Not really, if anything I feel glad that they are trying to make an improvement in their lives. Plus I wouldn't call them all "calorically" challenged, some people are just trying get fit and are not really in it to lose weight. I know quite a few people who say they want to start running marathons this year and thats they only reason they are going to the gym.

Are you kidding? As I sit here and eat yet another (((mm mm I love))) turtles!!! I wonder why those people dont just donate their money to a charity or me. I mean honestly that gym membership sure costs alot for 1 and a 1/2 months worth of work outs.
I think it is great that they are trying but honestly dont waste your money because it is the beginning of a new year, do it because you want to and you ready to give the commitment.

Gyms are expensive. I just work in my yard and eat a good balanced meal. With my activity I try to eat between 1800-2400 calories a day. I lost the Holiday fat in about a month.

No at least they are taking their asses to the gym to try to do something about it.

Besides, I really feel sorry for those little African kids on TV that dont have any food. They would probably be pretty happy to be fat.

No. I feel bad for them in a month when they give up and go back to the old habits.
