Does anyone know a dog rescue, or an individual who can help save these dogs?

I was looking on petfinder and I came across an adorable American Bulldog shepherd mix from the Columbiana County dog pound. If the petfinder listings are accurate, he, along with 10 other dogs (7 of which are puppies), are scheduled to be euthanized in a gas chamber tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. It broke my heart to see. As I am too far away to directly help I am spreading the word as best I can around the internet in hopes that someone who can help will see this.

If you know of a rescue in the area please pass this on to them, or if you can take one of the dogs yourself call the pound at 330-424-6663. Thank you.

Well, according to the site, the ones that were scheduled to be put down yesterday were either adopted or rescued. I emailed some rescues in the area, and from what I gather a large amount of the dogs do get rescued.

I live just down the road from Columbiana county, but there's nothing I can do.There are thousands of dogs and cats being euthanized everyday all over the world, not just in Columbiana county. It's a shame, but if people would stop treating animals as disposable toys, and would get their animals spayed and neutered,it would help tremendously towards ending the problem of unwanted pets.I feel bad for them, but I have six dogs of my own(all former strays) and 15 cats(all former strays as well). The Columbiana dog pound is a good one as pounds go,and I know of a few no-kill shelters that go down on euthanasia day and rescue some of the dogs,so all of those dogs may not be killed. It's nice of you to worry about their fate, but realize that there's only so much you can do.The most effective thing you can do is to encourage people to spay and neuter, and to realize that pets are a life-long commitment, not just something to play with and then discard when they tire of it.

I emailed the pound to at least ask to give them more time. I understand that county run pounds have very limited funds, room and resources, but with the fact they only have the few dogs listed, I do not know why they could not keep them for a little longer, at least give them a chance to be adopted. I do not know of a rescue and am not very close either, but hopefully someone will be able to help.

According to the site there looks to be only three left and they are slated to be put down on 1/9 at 7am. I'm about 160 miles away. How far away are you? Email me.

enable me start up by technique of asserting that i'm not prepared in this breed. i wouldn't in any respect prefer to possess one. besides the undeniable fact that, I extremely have yet to fulfill a propose one. This regulation is ridiculous! i'm guessing that Yates is up for re-election this 12 months, and becoming to be a member of the "witch-hunt du jour" to top off his marketing campaign economic company account. that could be a certainty that this breed is a lot extra in all probability to be canines aggressive than many different breeds, and in charge vendors are attentive to that, and that they artwork to socialise and supervise their canines. I, too, have examine of many pit-bull assaults. The humorous element is, it form of feels that almost every time I examine of one, the "attacker" is a canines that has been residing an entire life of ignore and abuse on the tip of a chain. would not it make extra experience to outlaw chaining than an entire breed of canines, a SMALL share of which could extremely be talked approximately as risky? that is not purely pitbull canines that attack...maximum canines that attack have been ignored and/or abused. does not it make extra experience to bypass rules requiring people to handle their animals humanely than to kill a canines because of the fact it "seems" propose? i wish the people of Ohio are bombarding this ignorant jerk with hate mail 24/7...i don't stay there, yet i'll be sending e-mails to contributors of the Ohio domicile of Representatives, and that i wish many others do, besides. If people stand by technique of and enable this take place, which breed would be next? we've already considered the hype approximately Dobermans and Rottweilers...will certainly one of my breeds be next? This breed labeling has to cease.
