My cat did that one time also and i freaked out. I tried petting him and he beckoned my call. It turned out he ate too much and had to puke out a huge amount of food.

Get kitty to the vet ASAP, most vets will come out at night in emergency, try calling yours' office, there might be a home number for emergency.
All the other answers seems plausible. I am not sure how to make a cat vomit (giving dogs hydrogen peroxide, like for cleaning wounds makes them puke and might clean out the system, but I understand cats are very different)
I found a good site, though - be careful, though, I never know if I can trust these sites
HOW TO INDUCE VOMITING
DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING IF YOUR CAT
1. Has already vomited.
2. Is unconscious or convulsing.
3. Has swallowed an acid, alkali, cleaning solution, household chemical, petroleum product.
4. Has swallowed a sharp object that could lodge in the esophagus or perforate the stomach.
5. Has swallowed the poison more than two hours before.
INDUCE VOMITING BY GIVING
1. Hydrogen peroxide 3 percent (most effective): one teaspoon per five pounds body weight (up to three teaspoons per dose) every 10 minutes or until the cat vomits. Repeat three times only.
2. Syrup of Ipecac (not Ipecac Fluid Extract, which is 14 times stronger): 1 teaspoon per 10 pounds body weight once only. NOTE: Do not give a second dose unless approved by a veterinarian because of toxic effects on the heart if the cat does not vomit the syrup.
If you think it is low blood sugar (sounds like how I feel when I'm low) and he is conscious try gving him some maple syrup or somethign else sweet you can kinda make him lap up (like stick the syrup in the top of his mouth). Don't give a lot - just try a finger full and then wait about 15 min. If he seems to be getting better, give him a half hour or so - he may come aroudn if it is blood sugar. If not, after half hour he probably won't change much. If he is low he might be lethargic/sleepy and a little dazed looking and maybe seem kinda shaky or weak - like not seeming able to walk. Just be sure he can "eat" anything you would give him so it doesn't end up choking him.
Good luck! I hope your little man is okay.

You really need to get him to a 24 hour vet! If you need a phone number call any other vet and the emergency number should be on the answer machine. If you can, I would get his temperature. You have to get it rectally (so I hope you don't mind throwing the thermometer away). It should be 101-102. If it's way too high you can cool him down with rubbing alcohol, fans, and cold packs. But, it sounds like there could be something worse going on. Again, you really need to get him to a vet. Good luck!

OMG! Just happened to my cat last week. We took her in and they ran $150 worth of blood/urine The weird thing was she made a total recovery before we got her the medication.
I think she had a mild stroke or migraine but we are still giving her the pills. Is she fat or skinny? Ours was skinny with an overactive thyroid that made her always hungry.
Good luck.

Possibly either a stroke or a seizure. If you don't have professional animal care available at this time keep the cat contained so it doesn't further injure itself and be at your vet's doorstep as early as possible tomorrow morning.

I am going to say possible ear infection needs the vet. I really doubt the cat will need to be put down. Simple antibiotics should clear it up

Is your kitty eating regularly? He could be diabetic and have very low blood sugar. Its definately reason for concern and you should find a vet immediately.
