The only silly questions are those that don't get asked... :-)

I knew some male friends who weren't able to grow beards until they were at least 25. Not sure why... Then they complained when they had to shave every day.

From my (female) perspective, a smooth face is definitely preferable to stubble, and doesn't make you any more or less "manly." Consider yourself fortunate and enjoy it while it lasts.

If you really really want a beard. Shave regardless of whether you have facial hear or not. You beard will come in eventually. It is perfectly normal at you age to not to be able to grow a beard. I couldn't grow a good one until my mid 20's.

Maybe it hasn't developed for you yet. Did either of your parents fathers have facial hair? Look at your parent's fathers to get a better understanding of what you might have in the beard department for you in the future.

Well it depends upon your family's history. If your father has a hairy features, let's say a beard their is a strong probability that during your puberty you will develop the same trait as well. So be better check your family's background first then conclude.
