It all depends on what kind of vinegar you are talking about. You can have some Blasamic Vinegar that are incredibly rich.... thick, sweet, (and expensive!) You could easily spend 100 dollars or more on 4oz bottle. Some people put them on ice-cream, and strawberries.

You can also have rice vinegar which has unique flavor of its own.

it is not bland.. but it also should not be eaten as a food by itself. try mixing oil and vinegar together and using it in place of butter for bread.
