actually, i feel just the opposite about the aroma. when i smell that particular smell it makes me think that i'm going to be taken care of.. if i am there because i am sick or visiting someone, it doesn't matter. i get this feeling inside as if i am surrounded by superheros who can save my life or the life of whoever i am visiting. i know, i watch Er shows too much!

No, I don't think of the hospital aroma as scary. I work in a fairly large hospital in MI and when I go to work, the smell kind of comforts me. It's a mix of cleaning products, rubber gloves, and new, sterile equipment. My fellow nurses will also tell you it has a calming effect on them, comparable to chamomile and lavender. I enjoy things that are clean, and this smell is a clean smell to me.

The smells are not as scary as realizing that this is where most folks end up dying!
