When people have issues that are not resolved
(like maybe an abusive authority figure - parent or boss
Or the loss of someone they love , or a fear that they will not succeed in school or at a job)
Then they compensate / try to get a good feeling from food. Unfortunately the effect is temporary and the abusive person or loss or whatever is still there.
They can only fix it when they 1st) understand why they are seeking comfort from food and then 2nd) develop a plan to resolve the issue.
Once the issue is resolved, they can return to eating for nutritional and health reasons.

I think that stress, depression, self worth, and a few of the causes. Sometimes people use food as a crutch to help with their problems, but they are just making bigger ones for their self. I think they way to fix this problem is to find out what is brothering the person and get them in counseling if needed, but any way get them the help they need.

stress denial boredum hatred ,,
about any not good emotion and even some good ones
thinking ur perfect and can cut down on the diet
i propoose just keep trying hard not to get fat and if u hit a problem well build a bridge and get over it,also dont have a lot of shitty food in ur house

depression.... because eating raises seratonin levels, which is responsible for keeping you calm. one thing would be to see a doctor to properly assess your situation. but also talk to a friend or family member to just get some things off your chest. if you don't feel comfortable, you can write a journal about your feelings.

stress, worrying about things, being bored and just eating
stay away from the kitchen at late times, dont go thru drive thrus, try to exercise and eat healthier so you have less stress about your weight
throw away all junk food so you will have nothing unhealthy to emotianally eat
