I suppose it's because they can't find anyone brave enough to taste the mouse and work towards exacting the flavor as a cat food! :-)

Great question. We have contemplated this before and no one has found the answer. Perhaps one of the readers can solve this mystery.
Actually, my cats would never eat a mouse. Play with it, yes. Let it go, yes. Eat it, never.

If you've ever seen a cat catch a mouse, they don't actually eat the thing once they catch it, they just play with it, usually until the poor mouse's demise. Then you get a "little gift" on your bed, compliments of your Great Hunter.

LOL! If you notice,the names of the food are meant to sound pleasing to us,even though they are for our cats. "Turkey Florentine With Greens","Grammy's Pot Pie","Sliced Beef In Gravy",etc.
