No, because I think it is a sick thing to be with some one of the same sex, much less marry of the same sex. I am a God fearing woman and I believe in what the bible teaches. It is wrong.

YES -- or at the very least, I support civil unions. Why? Because I've heard too many horror stories about gay couples who had no legal rights... for example, if one of them was unconscious in the hospital, the other had no legal right to visit. There's no reason that they shouldn't have the same right to extend health benefits as well. People who get all knotted up in the supposed "moral" issues keep forgetting that there are some very clear-cut legal reasons for such unions.

Also, I believe that everyone deserves equal rights. I strongly equate the people having a cow over gay marriage to the people who were having a cow over interracial marriage, thirty years ago, and who threw fits when the government tried to integrate schools. I suspect history will see them similarly.

Humans fall under the wrong impression that they can judge others. In fact, humans cannot because we are all equal. Personally, I don't care what some stranger does in his or her private life, it's non of my business.

I DO support gay marriage. I will never judge a person but rather believe in peace and tolerance for all. Plus I am very close to the LGTB community. (bi pride)

Also, the constitutional definition of marriage as being "between a man and a woman" is severely outdated. The constitution did not accept women's votes, allowed slavery, allowed for the oppression of women and minorities for many years and THOSE were changed in time after long battles for justice.

Also, the Bible yes it says that being gay is wrong...but slavery is allowed, so is stoning people to death so obviously that is also outdated. I seem to recall that Jesus never once spoke against gay rights. "Judge not lest ye be judged" DON"T JUDGE OTHERS. Jesus taught to turn the other cheek...if you don't like it, turn the cheek and look away but let love and peace be. (seriously, going out with anti-gay posters people look like circus animals)

Also, "IT"S NOT NATURAL" actually IT IS!!!! As we speak there are many animals in the world who are naturally attracted to the same sex. One example is penguins. It has been seen that two males become partners for life...it IS natural.

In conclusion, humans are trying to play G-d and feel that believing in the scriptures gives them the right to do so, but in reality all the hatred is just polluting the world.

You bet I support it. You know why? Straight people have made such a God awful mess of it!

And I'M HERE AND I'M NOT GOING TO SHHH myself about being gay! I'm going to force everyone to see that I'm here too! I don't care if the first poster hates it or not, he's part of the reason I do it. Just to make people like him deal with it!

Marriage has nothing! to do with religion at all. All the rights are given by the State and Federal Government! All of them.

No. Because marriage is fundamentally between a man and a woman. I don't think it's prudent of society to go around changing the definitions of our most cherished institutions no matter how noble or well-intentioned the cause. I understand where homosexuals are coming from here. But marriage is marriage and I simply think its too important to tinker with at all.

A good society has to draw boundaries around those things which it most values. Are we going to value the traditional family or not? I think a collective "no" on that one could really have some long-lasting and terribly consequences.

Absolutely! It's just a piece of paper that doesn't change how you feel about your spouse. All that marriage certificate gives you is the right to do your taxes "Married Filing Joint" instead of "Single."

Everybody deserves happiness (or misery, take your pick) in marriage!

I do not support homosexuals period. I don't hate them, that's not my place. God will take care of what ever is to be with them. If I know a business is owned by a homosexual, I absolutely do not support that business by shopping there. As I said, I do not hate them, I choose to not have any dealings with them. I believe homosexuality is a choice and not anything else they would like to make it. BTW, there is nothing gay about them in my opinion.

I can see both sides of the issue. I am a moderate. I can see that the Bible very clearly states homosexuality is wrong. I can also see every one of those passages blown to pieces when taken in a cultural/linguistic viewpoint. So for me? I honestly don't care. As long as a relationship is between 2 consenting adults, I think it is between them and God and is none of my business!

I do not support gay marriage. It is a sin.

2007-01-02 23:08:04 · answer #9 · answered by B"Quotes 6 · 3 2

Absolutely not. Its not natural. It is the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah. If gay marriages were meant to be, human beings would not have been created male and female. It in not commended in the Bible in fact it is an abominable thing according to God's word............................but not that it is the sin that I hate and not the people committing it. God loves all His children.
