because when your mother is pregnant, there may be complications that could kill the baby/fetus or the mother could terminate the pregnancy. SO after a mother has given birth to a child into this world is ONLY when they start adding that time. Why add in time while a mother's pregnant when you DON'T know what could happen before birth?

Well some cultures do add this time. But most cultures do not start counting age until the child has taken its first breath of air.
