Mexico's former president says the walls "must be demolished" because they are "discriminatory" and "against freedom."
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A41812-2005Mar16.html
"MEXICO CITY, March 16 -- President Vicente Fox said Wednesday that walls along the U.S.-Mexico border, such as one approved last month by the U.S. House of Representatives, "must be demolished" because they are "discriminatory" and "against freedom."
"No country that is proud of itself should build walls . . . it doesn't make any sense," Fox said at a news conference ahead of next week's meeting in Crawford, Tex., with President Bush and Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin. Border security and immigration will be main topics of the leaders' discussion, along with trade and commerce.

To Anne A: Mexicans are not U.S. Indians. U.S. Indians don't like Mexican Indians. They still tell stories of when Mexicans indians used to come north and attack U.S. indians.
Watch "WARRIORS: NATIVE AMERICAN VIETNAM VETERANS". Indians talk about fighting Mexicans indians.

Also, Geronimo attacked Mexicans after they killed U.S. indians. This is what Geronimo said:
"Late one afternoon when returning from town we were met by a few women and children who told us that Mexican troops from some other town had attacked our camp, killed all the warriors of the guard, captured all our ponies, secured our arms, destroyed our supplies, and killed many of our women and children. "
"Over the bloody field, covered with the bodies of Mexicans, rang the fierce Apache war-whoop"

Mexico has a southern border. With Guatemala and Belize. Ask anyone from either of those two countries what happens when they try crossing into Mexico illegally. Course, you'll have to find one that lived to tell.
By the way, Mexicans who think they are the indegionous peoples of North America, get a DNA test. You have as much caucasian blood as I have Cherokee. Further, the Texian Army was made up largely of Anti-Santa Ana Mexicans. Mexicans are NOT indiginous peoples. They're a nice, Heinz 57 mix of everything like everyone else.
Mexico still has a TRILLION DOLLAR A YEAR economy. They have about 28 billion barrels of crude just in the 'proven' reserves. Then add gold. Natural gas. Five thousand eight-hundred miles of coastline. Some of the hardest working people on the planet.
That French poet's lines just don't ring true anymore. Remember?
Ahh! Mexico. So far from God
So close to the United States
I think it's more like:
Ahh! Mexican goverment
Don't show God
When you rob the US blind

If only erecting a border wall solved the problem.... it certainly won't.
First of all, do you honestly think that the U.S. government is actually going to foot the bill for a huge 'Berlin-like' wall to run the entire border of the U.S./Mexico? I doubt it! 'Illegal Immigration' was the buzz term of 2006 but I bet we won't hear anything more on the issue while President Bush is in office. It's one thing to commit money to a cause (remember Katrina anyone?) but it's quite another to have that huge commitment of money flowing out of government coffers towards the actual cause. It rarely happens.
Secondly, maybe they will build a partial border wall... but then that would be a complete waste of money and essentially a big joke. Does anyone know how long the Texas/Mexico border is, let alone the Arizona/Mexico border, California/Mexico border, etc? A border wall a few hundred miles long ain't gonna stop anybody. They'll just go around it.

Have any of you been through the interior of the real mexico?I mean not all the tourist spots.well Ive been there through the dead of night, stopped by the fedralis at numerous checkpoints and even gave my foam mattress to one of their soldiers to sleep on.I was also stopped by a poor teenage girl who was frightened to death about something and gave her a ride to safety before turning south on my way to san filipe, and for all you smart butts out there i never laid a hand on her i only helped her.Freedom, discriminatory, walls,Fox and Bush are butt buddies, the wall is B.S.,mexico should fix their own country,we should fix ours,i don't like walls or fences, but in order to keep all this B.S. from turning into a bloodbath we better do something A.S.A.P.otherwise its going to get more ugly than it already is,so if it takes a wall to get this problem under control, then I'm all for it and man and arm the hell out of it,the hell with what anybody thinks!

I do not care who comes into this country as long as it is legal. Those who enter this country illegally cost the American Tax Payer Billions a year. President Fox needs to do something in his country to promote reasons for the Mexicans in the region to want to stay in Mexico. He does nothing. He like the fact that his unwanted countrymen seek a better life in America. I say come to America, just do it legally. President Fox is a coward and refuses to support several issues that affect the United States. I believe that for every illegal alien from Mexico that enters the US we should send him a bill for their expenses while they are waiting for citizenship. We need to start hitting him in the pocketbook and make him pay! Its called sanctions, and it should be done.

Have you read how Mexico treats their illegals. Damn hypocrites! I'm sick of him and his bs!
"Some of the worst abuses take place on the coffee plantations of Chiapas state, where some 40,000 Guatemalan field hands endure backbreaking jobs and squalid living conditions to earn roughly $3.50 a day. Some growers even deduct the cost of room and board from that amount. "If you ask them, 'Why are you bringing in Guatemalans to work?' they say, 'You can't depend on Mexicans. They don't work hard; they're irresponsible'," says George Grayson, a political scientist specializing in Mexico at the College of William & Mary. "The truth is, you can pay [the guest workers] a pittance. And if they cause the slightest disturbance, you can send them back to Guatemala."

The Mexican President has NOTHING to do with the way the United States runs things. We are building walls so we don't have to pay for these illegal aliens who are raping our country.
I'm not being racist - I know there are people of ALL ETHNICITIES who come here illegally.
Honestly, the USA RUNS the world, so - if they don't like the wall being built... TOUGH SH*T. 'Cause their people makes up for ninety percent of the problem.
We're building a wall for OUR PEOPLE'S SAFETY.
If Mexicans don't like how they're being treated, they should stand up for themselves in THEIR OWN COUNTRY *instead of runnin' away like little sissies...* and make a change.
'Nuff said.

We could tear down the walls and take our border patrols out of there is President Fox would take control of his people and stop them from entering illegally. Then he needs to step up and be a good president and build his country up to support it's people. We've given Mexico plenty of money thru the years so they need to get it togeather.

That shows how stupid they are down there. He actually wants the people to leave the country and become a burden to us and not to the Mexican government. Get that wall built, make it higher, make it longer, and do it soon!!! Then, we don't have to worry about all their gangbangers and drug dealers sneaking over here.

"against freedom" huh? Whose freedom exactly? Illegal immigrants don't have any freedom because they are not U.S. citizens and are destroying the country.
I think Mexico should take the initiative to create more jobs there so that there citizens will want to stay there instead of running over to the U.S. Why are they blaming the problem on us?

First off I don't think 90% of the people would believe who he is or was, and would not care for what he had to say. That is if he came in human form. The last God, could not get all the people to listen to him. For most of them did not care what he had to say. Sorry. take care dave
