No belts, never...
Spanking is OK...
People are so afraid of physical discipline becuase people who don't know how to act appropriately ruined it for the rest of us, now you have over sensitive parents who let their kids run a muck throwing controllers at their grandpas head at the age of four becuase they lost at a video game. (seen it happen)

Hitting a child with a belt tells the child that problems are to be solved with violence. A gentle swat on a toddler's bottom if they are doing something unsafe is thought of many as being OK if you also tell the baby "No...that is not safe. You will get hurt!" The use of belts is abuse.

I occasionally got spanked with a belt. Frankly when I did get it, I deserved it. They never broke the skin. I never bruised, and I never got a welt. My butt was red and hurt, but the most injured thing was my pride not my flesh.
I think more children should be physically punished. However, I think the punishment should suit the offense and the child. Some children respond better to physical punishment, still others respond better to mental punishments. As a good parent you should know which punishments would best suit your child in order to correct and modify behavior.

Most people who are adults now haven't gotten cracked with a belt. Most of these people are really not as successful or can not attain much success because of their lack of discipline as a child.
The most disciplined generation of people were whipped with sticks, and belts almost anywhere on there bodies. I'm talking about the pre-baby boomers. The children of the great depression. It was a great time in society because people were disciplined enough to NOT break the law. Now you see these idgits who never got as much as a spanking pushing the limits of the law...and even getting away with murder because of some 'technicality'.
Way to go Dr. Spock, your no-spanking idea really improved society as we know it.

I agree with you. There was another question about this recently on this site. Look in the "search question" section by typing in "hitting with a belt" or something like that and see what others have said.

If hitting a child with a belt is the best the parent can do, it sure doesn't say much about their parenting skills. Kind of pathetic, I'd say.

Timing belts won't squeal, there have teeth. Take it back the place the artwork replaced into executed. it could be an adjunct belt unfastened besides, like the alternator or power guidance. they might could have been bumped off & reinstalled to get to the timing belt.
