Depends how extreme. But five months is a pretty long time and is no doubt extremely dangerous and will/can kill that person. I would advise that person to get counselling immediately.
Anorexia can stop your period
Stop your hormones from growing
Produce long coarse hairs all over your body
KILL you
Bulimia can ruin your vocal track
Decay you teeth
Impair your gag reflex

Eating disorders are ugly and have a long hard road to recovery. Don't do it.

There is no time table as to how soon one can die from having an ED. Every body is different but if you are suffering from an ED I encourage you to try to think about what is the ED helping you to avoid thinking about. Why does your ED exist? I encourage you to speak to a therapist who can help you sort it all out so you can get relief from this terrible disorder. You are not alone and trust me the sooner you reach out for help the easier the recovery will be. Be strong, you can do this!

If you have had an eating disorder for any length of time there is always a chance you can die from it as your electrolytes and other body systems are scewed up. Read up on the famous singer Karen Carpenter who died from anorexia.

While you may not die today or next week, if the disorder is not treated it WILL eventually kill you!!!! Eating disorders wreak havoc with every organ in your body - mainly your heart and kidneys. Everyday that one suffers from an eating disorder is another day's damage to those organs. And these organs do not heal very well after such abuse.

Please, please if this is you, please seek help. I know it is scary, I know you may even feel embarrassed but there are people to help you, please let them.

Well.... if tis Anerixia or Baliema that yes you can die soon.. becuase your body needs food to survive and it can only go 1 month with out food.. untill it starts eating itself away to stay alive.
