Apathy is disinterest in something. Lack of caring. So voter apathy would be when people don't care about the importance of the act of voting.

Voter apathy is when a person does not take the time to go to the polls because they make excuses such as " My vote doesn't count, It won't make a difference they are all crooks, etc." Unfortunately it is usually the people that need to go to the polls that don't. The black race is an example. Martin Luther King spoke to the black race about voting and exercising their rights. The black race has the power to change who is President and many other things such as issues in congress if only they would vote. The young in this country have neglected to vote and it is their future that they are dismissing. The elderly have neglected to vote and it is their social security that gets ignored. Voting is free and if you take the time to learn about the people that you are voting for then you have done something to better your life. Apathy is like depression. You just crawl under the covers and ignore everything around you.

Apathy means a voter does not care. If they did not give a rat's rear end, why would they bother to vote anyway. Maybe some of them may receive retribution for showing up on Election Day?

The question has been answered so what I have to say is Go MH!
Voter Apathy is not a cute thing. Your vote does count. Your opinion counts more. Letting your opinion be known can sway others. I'd like to think that I personally swayed an election for govenor of a state. This person's actions were terrible and he said some things that were untrue about my profession and salary because it was popular. I swore to get him. Everyday I talked to three people and only showed them what was said he had done in the newspaper;no name calling and only the truth. I made lots of people aware of his actions and they made lots of other people aware. When he ran for governor of Missouri, not only did he not carry the city where he was mayor, he did not carry the next couple counties either. I'd like to think I helped keep him out of office. We did get a pretty good govenor from the other side of the state.
If you care, see what you can do! It's your future.

Voter apathy, in media circuits, is taken to be the percentage of eligible voters who don't cast ballots during the election, be it at advance polls or on election day itself. I prefer to extend that definition to those who don't even think about who they're voting for, and why they're doing it.

Apathy is lack of emotion, motivation, or enthusiasm. People as voters are learning more and more that their vote makes little difference; Hence: voter apathy.

Voter apathy is when a citizen of the United States fails to vote or register to vote because he/she either doesn't care or feels that his/her vote doesn't count. For sure, your vote won't count if you never use it. Even if you write in none-of-the-above. You are voting and letting your elected officials know you aren't happy. We'd like none-of-the above to be an offical candidate on all ballots as a means of encouraging people to vote.

Here's your chance to end voter apathy! Citizens Protecting Your Rights has joined with numerous groups across the country to encourage all citizens and legal residents to send pink post cards to our elected or appointed officials stating: "You're Fired!!!" For failure to uphold your oath of office; For failure uphold the Constitution and the laws of the land; For failure to protect our borders from all enemies, foreign and domestic; for failure to enforce our laws against illegal aliens and those who hire, harbor and help them, etc. We are also demanding that their paychecks be confiscated and used to pay back social security and whatever is left, pay down the National Debt. We'd like to have every citizen and legal resident send at least four postcards to their elected and appointed officials. The cost per post card is 24 cents. Also, we'd like each person to have at least one other person send four post cards, and cause a chain reaction. We'd like to have a mountain of pink at our State and Federal Official Offices.

It's where voters don't care, either about an issue or about an election, and as a result, don't vote.
