Absolutely!!! Go to this site and look over a few things....This is a great group to belong to in case you ever need help in filling papers out etc. They are a Professional legal representation service. Would never be without them personally.

First have you looked into a curriculum you will be using? If not look up a few on the internet to see what you think will best suite your child and yourself. I have chosen Bob Jones University www.bjupress.com and I use their satellite classes that are called HomeSat. Great teachers and I am also getting ready to learn foreign languages myself.

Contact the HSLDA and find out what steps you need to take to make sure you are in compliance with the state laws. (like I gave you below)

Personally, I would think as a parent you could make that decission. However, each stat has its own laws. If you don't like the answer your getting from the school, check with the District or even the State and see. Perhaps knowing the circumstances for homeschooling could have an impact on their answer. Good luck!

Well yes you can, or at least in my state. My friend just currently went into homeschooling and it's the middle of the school year. You just have to speak with the Board of Ed.
