If you broke up with someone and they sent you a email saying " Regardless of anything that has happened with us in the past, I want you to be happy, healthy and all things good and nothing will change that".
Does this mean the person still loves you? I think it's a very sweet thing to say after all the heartbreak.

Some people do really think u r a great person, and then just hurt u.... but under all the crap, they know u were a good person, and some really hope tht you do find the right person.... It doesnt mean they still love you....you can want the best for people without loving them....I want thebest for a patient of mine in hospital at the moment, and even want to take care of him when he leaves (developmentally disabled)... but that does not mean that I love him.... It is too hard to tell without knowing the whole story and the person involved. I have heard this from all 3 of my boyfriens this year... so to me it sounds just generic.. cos they certainly dont back it up with any action that would signify the same wish! Actions speak louder than words, dont read so much into it, esp. if he has caused u alot of heart ache.. it could be just to clear his own guilt and make him feel better about himself.

Well.. I know this from experience... he still cares about your well-being, and he respects you for you. However, the attraction between the two of you have faded. Take it as a blessing and a sign for you to move on. Live your own life and be happy. Happiness is your choice. Heal your heartbreak by doing what you love. Go out with friends. Enjoy your life.

Love is an emotion and an the use of the word "love"is often very abused... as in öh I love that show" well do you really LOVE it or just like it a lot? to be IN LOVE is very very different than just "loving"someone. you can love people on different levels, for instance you can love your family in a different way than you would love your partner, and it has nothing to do with sex, it basically means that you have intense feelings for your partner that produce happy endorphines in your brain when you are with them. You can also love people in a spiritual way. and it is always nice when your feelings of love are shared however just because you feel you LOVE someone or that you are IN LOVE with them - it never gaurentees that they will LOVE or BE IN LOVE with you just as much. Frequently people confuse lust for love, they are physically attracted to someone so they think automatically this is love - it isn't, love is much deeper than just physical attraction, it encompasses mind, intellect, values, personality, and being happy in each others company and loving that person for who they are as a whole. Love is a very wonderous and confusing and almost indefinable feeling... so diverse in nature and it has no race, sex, colour or religion... and that is the beauty of it. Cheers Raskel

Hm mm maybe, but it does mean that this person still desperately wants you to still love them. If they broke up with you it sounds like a control thing not love.

well it is sweet, but it doesnt mean that they want to get back with you. its kinda like even after the heartbreak, and the promblems we have had, i still respect u and wish the best for you, but it doesnt mean that they want to get back with you.
