I'm a junior in HJs with high hopes in life, i realy want to do something with myself, last year as a sophmore i did pretty good in school and i was in honor roll the whole year and i did ok on my final exams. but this year (junior year)i moved over the summer, went to a new school, and ended up moving back, before i could trasfer back to my old school my parents had to find some type of document for proof of residency. i lost 3 weeks of school, and by the time i was back the 2nd quarter already started. i talked to a lot of my teachers and they said they simply wouldnt count the 1st quaurter because they may be teaching different things. during those 3 weeks i didnt have much to do because my parents were working, my sister was in school, and my friends were also. i kind of went on the computer a lot since i didnt really have anythign to do. i guess it kinda got addicting but i know if i need to i get off of it. right now im doing harrible in school.how do i get myself back on track?

It's not the end of the world, if anything you could try to see if your school offers night classes. If not, there is always summer school.

I didn't even go to school during junior year and because of that, I have to go through an extra semester of school (I'm graduating at the end of this month).

High school like all other phases of life has the basic 3 components of mental, physical, and spiritual which cannot be separated.

Your physical and spiritual well being influence the mental and so on. It is just the way people are constructed.

Spiritual - You need to be in touch with your spiritual side. Normally this is through your religion but that is an individual matter. I went to a Catholic high school so this was pretty much taken care of for me. The clergy at your church may be able to give you some guidance if needed.

Physical - You need to be in the best health possible. That means that diet, exercise, and rest all have to be there in adequate amounts. Your mind is a biological unit and will not work well if your body does not.

Mental - Your emotional state is just as important as studying. The mind does not work well if your emotions are stressed out. Learning is a mental thing and you need to be focused and balanced for this to happen. In general, you need to study at least some every day to keep your edge. Before you can make much progress here, you need to be on the right track everywhere else.

I moved when I was in high school too. At first it seemed like the end of the world but it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened for me.

You identify your goals and figure out a plan to achieve those goals.

You sort of identified your goal: to get yourself back on track. What does that mean exactly? What's your long-term goal for this school year? By the end of high school? Figure that out. Then, what do you need to do to reach that goal? It may mean working harder at home, taking summer school classes, something. You figure out a plan that'll work. Then remember that each day, you are deciding to be successful in that plan or not. Every time you choose something that is 'off track' is an actual decision to BE off track. Is that what you really want? Focus on what you really want and the choices you need to make to have what you want.

Set a goal for yourself. Do you want to go to college or do you want to drift from one low paying job to another? A tutor might help you focus. Just think of how much better you will feel about yourself if you bring your grades up again. If the computer is in your room, have it taken out. Ask your parents for some help. Keep away from the laptop. Your school work is your only job right now. Find a sympathetic teacher who will help you get organized and on schedule.

You should talk to a counselor at school to see what you need to do in order to catch up with your schoolwork. BUT don't try to overload yourself with work all at one time because you will just get burned out. Start with small steps like no computer until all of your homework is done. Then, if there is extra credit that you can do, do it, as long as it doesn't interefere with your current work. If you have extra credit but aren't doing well in the other work, then the extra credit is no good. Just try to set up a plan that works for you and pace yourself.

I think you should talk to your parents or school counseler and seek their advice. Your school may have a student tutoring program as mine does that may help. Mostly, you just need to get yourself motivated because mostly it is up to you. If the computer is distracting you, maybe you should limit your time on it to an hour a day or something. Of course, you're going to have to have self control in order to keep this going. Also, maybe you should make yourself study for a certain amount of time each night. I wish you luck!

I would go in and talk to your teachers.Tell them what has been going on and also tell them that you really want to do well in school. Ask them if their is any sort of extra credit assignments that you could do... or see if you can go in before or after school for tutoring.I know it is hard to get back into the swing of things...but just try and it all will work out. Also, if things are too hard think about summer school. It can help you get caught up.Good Luck...It will all work out :)

you just have to jump right back on the track. and since you were good in school you will be good again.. I know its hard to get back in the swing of things but its going to be one of those things that will only get better for you if you get on it. so Just do it! just take the bull by the horns so to speak .. you are young and smart. If you dont get back in school you can mess up your nice life and believe me you dont want to do that. just think how bored and poor you will be if you dont do what you have to do. ok now get off this silly computer and get to work. read a book or something.. yes right now.

You made the choice to go off track. If you can , just get back on track!! Make computer time, a reward for good study time. Getting back on track will require you to focus on your class studies as well as home studies. Put your computer on restriction for a week then work it in as a reward. You can do it!!
Good luck!!

Ban yourself from the computer or don't go on until you have finished your homework or studying. Work should always come first, especially if you have dreams of doing something with your life after highschool. Getting behind makes it harder to catch up, so get crackin! Sign off the computer and focus, focus, focus!!!
