I have various files, movies on the computer that are .avi, that I need to play in a normal DVD player.

How do I convert the .avi movies that I have so that I can play them on the DVD player?

Recently found this excellent little programme called DVD Flick

http://sourceforge.net/projects/dvdflick/

It can take several video files stored on your computer and turn them into a DVD that will play back on your DVD player.

Best of all its free.

The best way, in my view is to buy a dvd player that can play AVI, they are running cheap nowaday about 50 bucks. It will save you money in the long run since you will be using less dvds, also time spent in conversion. But if you want to go with conversion, then I highly recomment nero 7 consisting of nero vision to convert and burn the avi movie into dvd format, but it takes at least half an hour.
