I've been dating this guy for about a month. He gave me my hope back in men, and proved a really nice guy actually does exist. I had just gotten over a bad break up with my fiance who cheated on me. He supported me through everything, taught me everything about life and men. i really did like him and wanted to see what the future would bring.
But then, New Years Eve, i got really drunk and kissed this guy that i barely know and dont care about at all. I knew i had to tell my bf the truth so i did. He cried and said he guessed we couldnt be together anymore. I cant stop beating myself up over this. I cant believe i'm such a jerk and how i could hurt someone so bad after i already know what it feels like. Is there anything i can do to make this better?

If this guy is so insecure that he can't handle you kissing someone on New Years then you really don't want to have him as a bf. This type can get very dangerously jealous. They are the type that can commit murder over such an innocent act on your part.

My advice is to get away from him and find someone more stable. this guy is not stable at all.

If he truly cares for you, I think that with time he will come around. He's just hurting because he feels betrayed. It might help to tell him that you would be willing to give up the drinking and partying if he will give you another chance. If you really love him like you say, you should be willing to do that. If he can't let go of something minor like this though, it's probably better that you know now, so that you won't get hurt even more by this guy in the future. I know that's probably not what you want to hear, but sometimes it's better to know now. Good luck honey, and God Bless.

Saying that you were drunk isn't much of an excuse at all. And it doesn't give a person carte blanche to act like a fool without there being repercussions.
You can apologize as much as you want, but you really hurt this guys feelings. The admiration and trust he must have felt for you, gone within seconds.........

Maybe with time and talking things through you two can get things back on track. But you will have a lot to prove to him in the future.

Bless you for telling the guy the truth. How much of a problem is booze in your life? I'd be leery of getting involved with a person who gets all boozed up just because people do stupid things then. Go to him or write and tell him that you have a plan to quite the booze, that you know you "sinned" against him (that's what it was, right?) and that, while you aren't perfect and may well find other ways to bother him, that particular one won't happen again, and you are prepared to demonstrate that your behavior has improved if he'll give you the chance.

I wouldnt give up. I would show him how much you love him, because actions speak louder than words. I would also suggest you not drink around others maybe except for him. He wouldnt be able to trust you for a long time. It may take some time, but I hope that he gives you another chance. Dont pester him too much, let him have a little time. If it doesnt work out, be proud of yourself for being honest. It took a lot from you to be honest and tell him the truth. If he cant see that, then..............

1. Telling him about what you did was a very good idea. A relationship without honesty is on shaky ground, so your truthfulness shows promise.
2. Make contact. In person if you can. Tell him how much he means to you, and how much you want to make amends. Be persistent. He will have to regain his confidence in you over time. Show him through your actions how important he is to you.
3. Keep away from alcohol.

You just need to give him some time. Let him know that you are really sorry and that you were drunk and that you love him and want nothing more than to be with him, crying yourself also helps (we are suckers for crying women). If he truly loves you he will know that you did not want this and he will forgive you. At least I know that if my girlfriend kissed another guy that I would be really pissed off at her for a while but I would get over it and take her back because I love her.

Nope, you are not really attracted to this dude. It does not take much to not kiss a dude. BUT its just a kiss..... nevermind, i never heard about anyone recovering from somethin like this. Next time, dont tell your bf. The big picture is that it was a random kiss is nothing and getting drunk does not help either.

He cried because you got drunk and gave someone a kiss? He can't forgive you for that? I say kick his behind to the curb, he'll probably turn gay in the future anyway.
