Recently i have purchased a Sony DSCS500 digital camara. It has only 25MB internal memory. So i am thinking of buying an external memory card. Whether only sony memory card is compatible with sony cameras or some other cards also can be put. If so, what are all the memory cards compatible with sony camera

That's the problem with Sony cameras, they are only compatible with Sony Memory Sticks. This camera in particular uses Sony Memory Stick Duo Pro. Largest size is 4GB. You cannot use Compact Flash, Secure Disk or any other media.

Sony and SanDisk both make Pro Duo memory sticks which will fit your camera.

sd xd mmc ms sm pro are all the main types of cards also read the manual
