the money he makes while deployed is nontaxable which means that his income while in Iraq wont show up on his w2. so if hes deploying soon then hed only be showing maybe 2 or 3 grand for his wages for the year...2007

He is in the National Guard and a dead beat dad? That has to be an oxymoron.
From what I found out , he will be making between $1000 -$1600 a month to dodge mortars and road side bombs 24/7.
If you have a child support order in place it should be in his file and your child support should be withheld and mailed to you each month by the government. Also if he is leaving this month - he is to have all his legal paperwork already completed so make sure your child support order is up to date and on file. This can be done by contacting the domestic office that handled your initial support agreement. I don't see why you would want to review the
amount at this time. He won't be spending any money where he is going.
Just wondering.........
Maybe before you ex lives you could be crass enough to ask who the benefiicary to his life insurance policy is. That will give him a warm fuzzy feeling and remind him why he prefers Iraq.......

Let's put it this way.
Your children deserve the best that you can give them, and that's not just about your love. They need food, clothing, shelter, books and other school supplies, etc. And statistically, after a divorce, the woman is uch worse off, financially, than is the man. That's the reason for child support.
Your ex can apply to have this reviewed. In the meantime, though, you can check to see if you and your children are eligible for the military's family financial supports. As well, you should also speak with a lawyer about his lack of child support payments. It might be that there is a way to get at least some of the back payments, as well as a way to have his wages, from whatever source, garnisheed as child support.

Depending on the state you live in, some child support agencies do not count additional pays, such as housing allowances, food allowances, that sort of thing. As far as combat pay, that is only for time in Iraq. Once he is back from Iraq, he can have the support reviewed again and the support would be lowered back to the original amount. Of his extra pays, if counted, you may recieve possibly $100 more a month. Around 1/4th of what he is getting extra monthly for combat pay ect. The decision is yours to make if you want a review. You should call your local DA's office first and see if they count combat zone pay and hazard duty pay into their figurings for child support. My husband pays child support, he is in the military and only our base pay is counted. You'll need to check. Good luck

Yes first off when NAtional Guard soldiers go to Iraq they get active duty pay. ALso you have to know if he has Dependants right now. Also you need to calculate if hell be getting BAH,BAS. All these things you can find out by aasking him. from But i can tell you that you will not be getting **** from him whiles hes in the army. civilian child support is way more than in the army. Google the army pay chart and look at he incentives and basic allowances.

There is such a thing as the Soldiers and Sailors act that keeps them from being sued during active duty and while being deployed. You can get your child support no problem through an allotment by sending a copy of the decree to his Superior Officer but I doubt seriously if you can sue him for more.
In the meantime you could be praying for his well being because he is your child's father and forgive for his past mistakes. It sounds to me like he is trying to grow up and become responsible so give the man a break.

He will get his regular pay, family separation pay (if he has Dependants), hazardous duty pay, probably a basic allowance for housing and separate rations. These are things he could potentially be getting.
And I believe that the military will directly remove the child support out of his pay check and send it to you. That's at least what they did to my father, but that was may years back.

Unless you know what his rank is and how long he's been in for. You can't tell.
The pay scale for the military is a matter of public record.
Best guess is his base pay is around $900 a month.
