APEX fares are generally purchased well in advanced (name stands for Advance Purchase), more than 21 days ahead, and they are usually heavily restricted tickets. If you are doing your own search on an airline's web site or travel site like Expedia, include a Saturday night stay, and purchase your ticket more than 21 days in advance, and you will usually be given the APEX fare if there is one available at that price. Try experimenting with your return date; 10 day stays are often a requirement for APEX fares.

You can also contact a travel agent and ask them to search for an APEX fare for you. There might not be an APEX fare available on every flight though.
