Don't you think men would be better off if they worked to pay the bills and support their families & do the house repairs & mow the lawn.

No way. When you are like this and bear children for your man, he will despise you. I know some people whose husbands changed the moment there are children. In sociology, studies show that men concentrate outside and women have to work the second shift- meaning you may have a job but you have to come home to cook and take care of the children still.

It seems to me that you are attacking this question from the wrong angle. In what most people would consider a good relationship, there's no such thing as 'my man' or 'my woman'. A couple that works well together will decide for themselves what child rearing arrangements will be the best for their situation.
