Don't listen to the first answer. HOMEMADE is MORE EXPENSIVE, as it is hand churned, not manufactured like the rest of the vanilla cranked out by a machine. It usually has a smoother and more pleasing texture to it, as well.

The ingredients are some what the same, but the processing and quality of the ingredients vary. Store bought ice cream usually contains additives that are added to prevent ice crystals and add to the freezer life. Homemade ice cream is time consuming but there is a better taste to it (personal opinion). With homemade ice cream you also get something that store bought has never been able to add........love.

Homemade = stronger flavor & creamier. Have you tried Blue Bell ice cream? They have a flavor called "Homemade Vanilla". It's the best!!!!

Home made taste much better. It probably has less ingredients and yet more natural ingredients too...depending on the brand you compare it to.
