Is there a doctor who would analyze all the medications including mental illness meds?

Is there a place like the Mayo Clinic that offers this service? Is there a place in the NY / NJ / CT area?

This is for my father. WebMD was no help and this goes beyond a Pharmacist. He is bipolar and has heart disease and diabetes and I feel all the meds the doctors have him on are affecting one another.

I am asking about the different medications being all taken together. Do you know of a place where they could analyze the combination of meds and possibly find a new combination of meds that would actually help all of his ailments?

You want to find yourself a Medication Therapy Management Service (MTMS). They will review all your medications, and they are generally run by pharmacists. This service is covered by law by Medicare Part D, and some private insurances do cover this. Some are run by universities, even retail pharmacies are starting to join in.
A doctor would not be a good choice to discuss medicines. They might know their medication very well, but no one elses.

I would go to the Pharmacy. That's their job, they know all about medications. I think a Dr.'s advise is part knowledge and part opinion. There are many Dr.'s out there that do not believe in a lot of different meds. If you have specific questions on specific meds, try posting them here or just searching the Internet. There are always lots of others that are taking the same things and will share their experiences.

Is it all of the meds that you are on? Also it does depend on what you are trying to find out about your meds.
But I would suggest asking your pharmacist, since they more than likely have a file about all of the medications that you are on. That is as long as you get all of your medication filled at the same pharmacy.

I would suggest a pharmacist. They have a vast knowledge of meds. That is their job.

They could tell you what each med is used for, and if they would interact or interfere with any other meds you're taking.

Your question is not specific. Do you mean your medication regimen, the medicine you are taking? Or do you mean having the actual pills analyzed for content?

Edited answer:

See this website. They do individual pharmacy consulting for geriatric patients and they are in the NYC area.
