My boyfriend came over on New Years Eve and left around 1:00 AM. The next morning around 11:00 he started throwing up, and told me he caught the stomach flu. We were kissing the night before. Does this mean I'm going to get it as well?

Well, the last time I had a stomach bug was about four years ago. Actually, last year I was in almost the exact situation--different guy though :)--and I didn't get sick. How much longer should I be worried about getting it?

Oh, we didn't have any alcohol either. And others who ate the same food didn't get sick.

You might. Keep everything very clean and use vitamins and plenty of water to boost your immune system, just in case. If you don't come down with anything by tomorrow, you're probably in the clear.

Good luck!

Was he drinking and smoking alot of cigarettes on New Years Eve? That will make one throw up. Or maybe he ate some bad food? If it actually is a stomach flu, you probably did catch it.

you are more than likely going to catch it, he probly had symptoms before hand and was already contagious. the first time i ever had it was a couple years ago, my mom was bringing me to work, we were both fine, a couple hours later she got really sick and about an hour later after i found out she was sick, i was sent home for the way i was feeling. i got it from her just from riding in the car with her that morning. drink lots of water to flush it out.

a flu shot isnt going to do anything for u, its a stomach virus

There is no such thing as the "stomach flu." He probably has food poisoning or is hungover. If you ate the same food that he did, you might get food poisoning too, but otherwise not.

You may not get the flu. Chances are you may. I'm guessing you haven't had your flu shot. It's really hit or miss. How often do you get sick?

yo may get it, or you may not. Have you had a flu shot? (not that that means you won't get it) You might want to stay away from him for a bit. but keep your fingers crossed. Wash your hands, and avoid close contact

The "stomach flu" is communicated by people getting feces on their hands and then touching their mucous membranes. PLEASE, FOR ALL OUR SAKES, WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER USING ANY RESTROOM. EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T MAKE, BE SURE TO USE A PAPER TOWEL TO OPEN THE DOOR ON YOUR WAY OUT!

There is a possibility but it is not certain you catch it. People have stronger or weaker immune systems than others.
