Is anyone else getting an error message when trying to use the "check for updates" option? It tells me that "the update server connection failed" and it has done this everytime I have tried since installing the program yesterday. Does anyone know how to get around this problem? I have used their FAQ section, but none of the options seem to help.

I suggest that you try to carryout system restore to a day previous to the day when there was no virus or any problems. It may be a few weeks or months back. You have to decide the date. Detailed instructions are posted at http://fixit.in/systemrestore.html
The problem is likely to be solved. Then,You insatll a standard antivirus soft ware such as Norton, AVG , Avast ( free antivirus software and Ad-aware, Ewido ( free spyware removers). You can download free softwares at

I've been using for over two years. Mine updates automatically. I've never seen that before. If I were you, I'd try reinstalling from the website. If that doesn't work, try finding a "contact us" button and ask them.

Try temporarily disabling Windows firewall if it's enabled, or any firewall software for that matter. Maybe the port is being blocked.

I just updated mine and it didn't show an error message.

Did you install version 7.5.0.432, if you did try installing it again, some times this works,more help here. http://free.grisoft.com/doc/24/lng/us/tpl/v5
