you need to be free and clear. The only way of knowing, is having a follow up blood test to see if it is cleared up. Your doctor should be having you get one, to make sure you no longer have it.

Well, bad news, it turns out that there's some confusion about that, but the virus can be present in saliva for months (up to 18 months in some cases!) after the first sign you have the disease. You should be less likely to transmit the disease once you're feeling better, but nobody can guarantee you that there is no chance at all of giving it to anyone else until quite some time after you recover.

Complete your regimn of antibiotics and then wait at least one week for any remaining infection to clear. Checkup with your doctor to be on the safe side.

depends on how many cells per ml of blood-there are certain amounts that are indicative of how contagious you are and there are those that are indicative how un-contagious you are.
chances are, your boyfriends already been exposed during the initial peak phase-it happens before you realise you've been exposed.
