no, when your body dies, it goes to one of three places: heaven, hell, or purgatory. heaven and hell are places the soul will remain for eternity, purgatory is a temporary state where souls purge themselves to make themselves ready to enter heaven.

No, it does not die. In Christianity, the soul endures forever, either in heaven or hell.
The soul is that which animates the body, when the body dies, the soul passes into eternity.
Only God can decide if a soul is to be obliterated.

Genesis 2:7 states that God breathed into his (adams) nostrils the breath of life and the man became a living soul. When you die that "breath" goes back to God. Your soul is you. You are a living soul. You body will go back to dust and you can only hope that God chooses to remember you and bring you to the promised land.

Define it first, fellow idiots. It is the vivifying, activating principle of the body. The human is a "compound" of both. When the material body dies, the immaterial soul continues. A perhaps bad analogy, but think of the soul as kind of an abstract idea of a table or anything else material. The idea exists without the table, but can you imagine a table without this image of it in your mind? Analogously, the human does not exist without this vivifying principle, this "idea" so intimately connected to him/her. Okay, professional philosophers, it's only an attempt to relate the unknown to the known. Leave me alone and don't argue the point. ;))

The soul is the essence of God and he wants it back. There are lots of places God wants you to visit to improve your progress back to him. There are many, thousands of planes or heavens to visiit. The soul can never die until it becomes one with God.
On its journey the soul covers it self in other bodies, that is appropriate for the plane residing in. The closer to God the the soul becomes more etherial. Eventually the soul becomes etherial and finnerless gross losing the human shape until it becomes just light.

Dear Webster, This is a very thoughtful question, and the answer is no. the Bible says it is appointed a man once to die then face Judgement. In other words, we die, our physical Body is laid in a coffin and buried, but our souls go before God and were given Judgement for the life we have lived. heres a test to see How you'll do. heres the Ten Commandments)
have you ever lied?
have you ever taken something that wasnt yours?
have you ever looked with lust (impure sexual desrie)?
have you ever used Gods name in vain? ex (G-D)
have you ever made an idol, or a God to suit yourself? ex( my God is love neevr Judgemental)
The BIble says if we have broken those commandments, God sees us as a lying theiving blasphemous adulterer at heart, and Because he is Holy and Just, the BIble says when you face him on the day of Judgement he will give you Justice in hell. this may seem ubreasonable, but God is perfect and requires absolute Holiness. heres the good news, God has made a way for you to be forgiven and reconcilled to Him. he sent his Son Jesus and he died on the cross for your sins. you Broke the law and Jesus paid your fine. What you must do is repent (turn from sin) and place your faith and trust in jesus, the moment you do, God will forgive you and grant you the gift of everlasting life. IM so grateful we have been able to talk, I hope you will seriously Consider what I have said, and get your heart right with God.
God Bless

No it doesn't, however, we are here on earth to follow or choose good or evil. What ever direction we choose we will go somewhere as in Heaven or hell.
In Chemistry there is a theory that energy can not be created or destroyed it just changes form.
Your soul is energy
I choose Good, hope you will too (With God of course)

The soul that sins, it will die. Ezekiel 18:4
Don't be afraid of him who can kill the body only, but fear him who can kill both body and soul in hell. Matthew 10:28
This is not what I say, it's what the Bible says.
Added: The punishment is eternal in the way that the death is irreversible. It's not eternal punishING, it's eternal punishMENT. The Bible says people only get eternal life if they are born again. But for some reason some people think that everyone gets eternal life, but that it just a matter of where you spend it. I don't think that's biblical. Eternal life is a gift. Hell is a picture of the place where people are consumed.

originally you said "how does the soul die"
from lack of contact with others souls
from not remembering others
from the depression of knowing others are poisoned with religions that tell them you are forever a pagan heathen unbeliever and they will haunt your generations with Crusades until you and your families' souls are removed from reality
