I have several cuts in my tongue, about 2 inches long. They have been there for as long as I can remember. I also have several indentation type things on my tongue. I have showed my doctor and dentist, and they haven't seemed concerned about it, but I was curious what it is, and does anyone else have this?

I know one other person with it, but don't really talk to them enough to feel comfortable confronting them and asking to see their tongue.

If you need more details let me know, and I will try to explain it better.

No, they don't hurt.

They have been there since I was little, since I was six maybe.

This isn't the result of an allergy, since they have been there for over 10 years and I have never had an allergic reaction to someone I have ate.

As for the water, I asked my doctor the same thing and he said that would have caused other types of cuts. These two start about 1/2 an inch back my tongue, one is to the left and the other is to the right of the middle of my tongue.

without knowing more can't answer. Do they hurt? if so it could be an allergy to something. Otherwise if you are talking about lines on the tongue, then yes, it is normal.

You may be allergic to something, or you don't drink enough water.
