A person believes in God, first and foremost I think, because at some point in their life they experienced His presence. I can understand those who cannot believe in God since they have never had anything they could say was an "experience" of His presence. However, it's hard for me to understand that a person would never, ever feel the presence of God during the course of their life. To me, that is what is a mystery.

I believe because I thought about it, studied it, and prayed about it. In the end, I came up with a reasonable assurance as to the existance of God based on what evidence there is. From there, I studied various faith systems until I found one that, in my opinion, best explains the human condition and how to resolve it.
Yes, I do believe there is a Spirit of God, or a Holy Spirit, or a helping entity of a higher power, however you wish to view it or name it.
As to why do so many otehr people believe, part of it is cultural, for others it is intellectual. On the other side of the coin, there are also many who do not, based in large part on a lack of personal experience with anything they would identify as a deity or laboratory-like experimental evidence.

I don't. And I don't. No. So many people believe there is because they have neither the intelligence nor the personal strength to deal with the idea that we are in charge of our own destinies. That we are responsible for the consequences of our own choices. That we, as individuals, are really not as important as we like to think we are. That bad things can happen to us and to those that we love through no fault of our own. God is a coping mechanism and a crutch that people are taught. People should rely only on themselves in order to better themselves and the world as a whole instead of using God as an excuse for everything they don't want to feel responsible for.

Yes. There is God. We are miniature representation of Him.
God has spirit. We are his image.
There is no eternal soul but there is a spirit that lives on forever.

I think there's a God cause somebody had to have created Earth & everything on it. That somebody/something is my God. I believe there is a Spirit of God, too.

I believe because God gave me a brain to see Creation around me and also to be able to understand the scripture and see that it really is the Word of God.
Most intelligent people can realize the same.

i cannot prove there is a God but i can belive. I belive in God b/c I can't live life otherwise. Ican't look around with out seing Him in it. I belive that each hu,man has a soul. The soul is what makes us unique.

I believe in God and the eternal soul because I haven't been given any sufficient reason not to.
(I am NOT a Christian though, because there are PLENTY of reasons to reject the Bible.)

I do not believe in God. My logic , lifes experiences , common sense and revelation have made to KNOW God.
