Australia's involvement in Iraq exists so that the United States can point to Australia (and other countries like it), and say this isn't just an American war - we were justified in defying the UN.

If the Australian people do, then yes but the Aussies have there own issues with terror. In Asia.
Australia has to first take care of Australia, but ever a fight "for the right" well Aussies do show up.
I love them for my time in Vietnam but Aussies have paid a great price fighting, assisting other nations, granted the Brits and us Yanks.
Besides such many issues at home? Drought, fires, terrorists
and such.
But the Aussies should do what they will do.
Think they are about the most respected people as to honour and such by Americans and the UK.

NO, the government is incredibly stupid! to waste lives and money in an unneccessary war, based on profitering for the G Bush Good Ol Boys. They should be spending tax dollars on their citizens and making Australia a better place. Or at least could have started long time ago ridding the world of other ruthless dictators!

Any country that wishes to remain a free country should be in the war against terrorism. Terrorism isn't something that is just in Iraq or Afghanistan, its like a disease that is threatening the way we live. I am an American who loves having the security to have a BBQ in my back yard with out the fear if a guy wearing a belt of dynamite is going to stroll in and blow me and my family to pieces!! For this security I fight for freedom every day. ALL countries who want security must join in this fight. Those who do not want to join in are those who wish to see democracy fail and terrorism prevail. I have served with Australians in Iraq, and I would proudly do it again.

Any country that wishes to help fight terrorism is entitled to do so.
The Australian Armed Forces are very professional and are a welcome ally.
It's ignorant to label the Aussies as 'stupid' because you think Iraq was a mistake. Grow up and show some respect for the soldiers of all countries that are protecting your freedom.

Nope, just like everyone but America has no place their. It's an American war being fought in an American way on American terms - hence the mess, everyone else should go home and focus on what actually needs to be done, not just bombing wherever Bush points to on his map.

If they want to go into a budget-sucking folly into a hellhole of never-ending caves WITHOUT terrorists that wouldn't even affect them in the first place, sure!
