Wicked i a great show! I saw it right after my 14th birthday and loved it. However, if you want good tickets, I'd suggest buying them soon. Tickets for that show can be hard to get.

Though, if you're looking for something really exciting, why not try a new show?

For my birthday this year, I went into the city again. This time, I saw "The Drowsy Chaperone" at the Mariott Marquis theatre. It's a FABULOUS show, with many Broadway stars in it. The music i great, and it's really really hilarious. I was all the way in the back orchestra, and still had a great seat, because it's a small theatre. It won 5 Tonys this year

Or how about Mary Poppins? That just opened recently to rave reviews. Your classic Disney movie, on stage, with extra songs and great dancing. The cast is completely incredible.

Or there's always the old classic, newly revived on Broadway, like Les Mierables and A Chorus Line, both highly successful (and HIGHLY amazing) shows that have revivals running on Broadway right now. Les Mis is more of a drama, of course, and A Chorus Line is very upbeat and funny. But both are equally fantastic, and I highly recommend both.

Hope you have a great birthday, whatever you choose!!

If you are going to see Wicked - great choice - you can also book to take a backstage tour and see how they do some of the special effects and how the show is put together. Take the tour AFTER you see the show - makes a great one two visit.

Then go to Hard Rock Cafe to eat. Or the restaurant at Rockefeller Center where you can watch the skaters while you eat.

Wicked is great. Phantom of the Opera is classic. Rent is also a good one to see. Bravo for you getting into Broadway!

Wicked is most definitely a good choice to see. I saw it in May of 2006 and I'm still in awe of it.

Other musicals I would suggest are:

RENT - great musical, great message...but a little adult. I'm 14 too and I saw it this past summer and loved it. You might want to ask permission to see it, as it has reference to drugs, alcohol, sex, and sexuality...but the story is amazing. It's real New York City life.

Hairspray - catchy songs and I loved the fact that it depicted the whole segregation issue of the 1960s in America...and that one teenager could change the lives of hundreds. I also saw this musical this past summer and loved it.

Phantom of the Opera - I've honestly never seen this musical live, but I'm sure it's good... It's one of my favorites, and one of my dreams to see it live.

Regardless of what you choose, I hope you have fun.
(:

Wicked isn't my all time favorite, but it's one of them. The plot is great, and the music and dancing are marvelous. No, I'd stick with Wicked, it's a good Broadway, and you'll enjoy it.

GO to wicked, i promise you will enjoy the story and music. I am also 14 and understud the story line better than my mom! It would be benefical to read the Wizard of Oz or watch the movie before you go! it will help you get some of the subtle humor

If you want to see something a bit less dramatic and light then wicked is your golden ticket to happiness.

But if you really want to see and hear broadways finest, see Les Miserables. the plot is more serious, but that doesn't make it a serious show. It is AMAZING!!

Wicked is pretty much amazing, but there are other great options too...

Spamalot is basically the funniest thing ever written. I COULD NOT stop laughing.

Les Miserables just has the most amazing and dramatic storyline and LOTS of great singing.

I saw Beauty and the Beast when I was about your age and I loved it!! It's absolutely fantastic and still one of my favorites... unfortunately I don't think its out (but it might be) But depending on when you're going Mary Poppins is going to be out and I really want to see that... I've never seen Wicked, but I've heard its good.... If I were you I'd stick to the classics. Have Fun!! New York is awesome!!!
