ASK YOUR DOCTOR PRONTO!!!!!!!!!

I am also underweight (by only five pounds). Don't eat three large meals and desert. Have lots of smaller meals throughout the day. Don't eat junk food, because that is bad for your body. Read the ingredients. For example: there should not be a long list for something like ice cream, it should have milk, cream, suger, etc. Buy lots of fruits and veggies and all natural organic stuff. Eating healthy isn't just for overweight people!!! Eat snacks in between meals. Again, I am not that much underweight (although now, I'm almost regular) and you should follow your doctor's advice. Don't excercise TOO much either.

Ultimately your body needs to burn less than your caloric intake- the exact opposite than what most people need to do to loose weight. And for all those who want to gain weight, they will agree that it seems just as difficult to do it as those who want to loose it.

Calories are ound in everything, so you could eat 10 pounds of broccoli and gain weight or 4 Big Macs adn gain weight. If you are constantly active and have a fast metabolism then that means you need more calories than another person would. This is all individual.

You coudl start small if you wish- swap out your 8 glasses of water a day for 8 glasses of caloric bevarages- be they milk, juice, pop, alcohol or whatever. Even ensure or gatorade will add calories to your daily routine. Wnat more calories to help put on more weight? Try adding granola bars, eat more fruit (an apple or banana can pack 120 calories per fruit...you don't need to eat poorly to gain weight).

Basically hon, eat what you like and drink what you like...You can add more cheese to your sandwiches. Put peanut butter on your toast, add butterscotch to your ice cream. All of these extra calories will add up.

In the land of weight- calorie is king.

Eat maybe more protein, stay away from beef and sweet foods (candy, cakes, cookies)

You may be the right weight but if you eat anything and everything your blood sugar could get too high and your cholesterol may get too high too.

This is clearly genetic. Some people are meant to be small. I think you should exercise (strength training) makes all body sizes/types healthy and hot!

Technically, you're not underweight though. I'm two inches taller than you and weigh 2 pounds less than you. Your BMI is 19.6. To be underweight it has to be lower than 18.
