It should be on the intake manifold or on the throttle body. Get a haynes manual for your car. It tells you step by step illustrated instructions. I am a mechanic and have one for every car I work on.

The MAP sensor is located close to the intake in between the firewall and the valve cover of this motor. I would hesistate to replace it however. I was a GM mechanic for years and I have only replaced a couple of these sensors relating to their operation. Most of the ones I replaced due to physical damage. Instead these sensors usually register a problem that is related to a vacuum leak or a misfire of some type. Also you could have a poor connection to it, but more likely a split hose in the vacuum supply to it. Recheck all the motor stuff before wasting your money on replacing a sensor which in all liklihood is still okay. Good luck.

It is a Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor. It tells the PCM (Power-train Control Module) "computer" how much load is on the engine so it can advance the spark, etc. when you speed up or slow down. Some vehicles have MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensors to do this.. Sorry I miss read your question. It should be on the intake manifold..

Depending on the engine, It may be located near the intake manifold, or on the firewall somewhere. It is a square black box with a few wires and a vacume hose going to it. Are you sure this is the problem? It very well could be a loss of vacume, or poor connection.

I'll tell you what, go to www.autozone.com and enter your type of vehicle, then click on "componant locator" and it should tell you where the part your looking for is located on your car. This is what I do anytime I need to know. It works great. Good luck..
