i think blue is nice, since i painted my kitchen a sky blue. i disagree with red; it is a dark and emotional color, possibly even vicious. who wants to be reminded of blood while they're cooking?! orange, for a change, would be nice, preferrably in a bright color? lavendar is also an interesting hue, and so is green. the problem wih green is if you pick a dark shade, you won't really feel bright and optimistic. basically, i don't recommend dark colors. but summer green, apple green, and other bright/light colors are fine. the only thing about "popular colors"....is that i think most people have white walled kitchens....

This is a loaded question. What color are you to begin with? Depending on the answer, choose what color of background you look best in. For example, if you were a very pale blonde , egg yellow kitchens wont work for you.
This is why there are so many neutral paints in many premade houses.
If this is going to be a designer , totally handpicked kitchen for only you, go splurge. Find the best designer who will build it so you look like a queen within its walls dishing out your queenly meals to your king, princes and princesses.

Any color you want. I recently remodeled my kitchen and opted to paint the main walls a sandy beige and then painted accent colors of red. When I get tired of red, I will just paint over it with a different accent color. It saves a lot of time and paint, and if you don't like your accent color, it's easier and quicker to change it than to repaint your main walls.

Red was the trend in 2005 then blue took over in 2006.
so you'd mostly find the dark almost burgundy reds or the true blues
red stimulates appetite so you'll find more of it :)

it depends on the rest of your house...but red apparently arouses your appetite so it's popular in kitchens
