If it is in neutral and you are not going over 25 mph and no more than 20 miles. If you dont follow those guide lines you may be lookin at a bill for a new tranny and transfer case.

Just remove the drive shafts from the differentials and save the bolts you can tie the shafts up out of the way with tie down straps. That way you can tow it across the nation. Be carefull chock the wheels or better jack it up and put it on 4 jack stands remove that last bolt in neutral parking brake off and have the truck roll over you. Front shaft can be removed completly. Mark the flanges with paint to get things back right where they came off.

With manual transimssion put both in neutral. Best thing to do would be to pay a little extra and get it towed on a flatbed.

Depending on how far you want to tow it you should put both shifters in neutral and remove the back drive shaft.
