Oh but you are wrong. The historians of the time wrote of Christ in the present tense.

Jesus grew to become into "on the scene" for below 3 years, and it in uncomplicated terms have been given extremely quite spiced throughout His final 6 months, so which you're able to assume there would not plenty writing approximately Him throughout His lifetime on the earth. The Jewish historian Josephus, employed via the Romans, wrote of Jesus interior the latter 0.5 of the 1st century. it is not an important time lag. Plus, each and every of the hot testomony books have been written from ~40 5-95 advert (confident, i understand that the NT wasn't prepare till later).

We call is "dispensation", a time period.
The Gospels were the dispensation of The Son. So, after he is gone back to heaven, then yes, historically speaking, referring to Jesus is going to be in past tense.
But if you read Paul's and the other apostles writing now Jesus lives in our hearts through the Power of the Holy Spirit.
IN John Chap 15 Jesus says that after he is gone, He will send another , The Holy Spirit that will remind his followers of everything that He taught and said.
Currently we are still living in the "dispensation" of the Holy Spirit as we wait for Jesus to return.
But what I think I hear in your words in real doubt as to whether this whole "Jesus thing" is real or not.
I take people right to 1 John (the first letter of the Apostle John back towards Revelation in the New Testament). John says it pretty plain and clear to those who doubted just a few years after Jesus went back to heaven. There were already people doubting just like there are today.
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched--this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. 2 The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. 3 We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
John and the other followers were there, right there. They saw it with their own eyes. They touch it with their own hands. They beheld the glory of God.
And the great thing is...you can behold it too....
John 14.6 "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father except by me."
Romans 10.9-11 "9 If you use your mouth to say, "Jesus is Lord," and if you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you will be saved. 10 We believe with our hearts, and so we are made right with God. And we use our mouths to say that we believe, and so we are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be disappointed."
Jesus dies for our sins so we could be forgiven and rose from the dead so we could have new life. Everyone who believes can have new life too.
Hope that helps.

Your assumption is incorrect. The gospels are written in the present tense in the original Greek manuscripts. The English translators have changed it to past tense because that is the way most English books are expected to read. The meaning is not altered because of it.

Most people were illiterate. They had to tell their story to a scribe for it to be recorded, which is why it was written in the past tense, since by the time the diciples actually got to a scribe, most of these events had occured.

Christians are, if anything, masters of plagarism and lies. They addopted the entire pagan belief system without question. Their beliefs are based on OTHER peoples and OTHER religions words and beliefs.

Because, in reality, Jesus is dead. We just worship his memory.
