It really depends on when her last chemo treatment was. Chemo can cause your WBC count to drop a few days after getting it. WBC (white blood cell) is what helps your body fight infection. Maybe that is why she got a cold in the first place. Definitely though she shoudln't get chemo until the cold is resolved, otherwise it could turn into a super infection a few days after the chemo is given.

you will possibly desire to have have been given a docs appointment in the process the day quicker and cancelled what ever you became doing, secondly sounds very very like a severe chest an infection, i might of suggested bronchitis yet that would not commonly comprise a runny nostril so im not too specific, besides the undeniable fact that honey is doubtless meant to be fairly sturdy for that form of subject, stay at domicile in mattress, get a lot of fluids and relax and get the college to digital mail you any artwork and so on. wish you experience extra effective actual quickly :D x

well i had chemo and it is not going to be fun it makes you very sick but the sooner the better to get started . But if she wants to wait a week or so to get rid of the cold it may be better because that chemo lowers your blod counts and then you will get sick easy. so it may not be a good thing to start out sick. Around the 2 cycle she will not want to do NOTHING BUT REST. it takes its toll. just make her as comvertable as you can and let her rest and make sure she eats anything just eat nothing will taste good but ya gotta eat. If she has a funny taste in her mouth I nibbled on salted peanuts plus they have a lot of protien. and it really helps get the taste out og your mount even if you only have a few very 20 minutes . you can also get a lot of info from the net on cancer from cancer centers all over the U.S. they all share info these days.dont give up hope and listen to the dr.s they deal with it everyday and they know whats up . You also can get a 2nd opion if your not happy with the onogolist mine was Dr. Mertens at Bay Medical center in Marinette Wisc. they are on the web Bay medical cancer care. check them out they will help with any questions you have. He is up on all the newest drugs and all that . Good luck and i wish you the best. I made it I was stage 3 in 2004. Just remember you may get sick as you have ever been but its killing whats killing you deal with that and get it over. Less doses are less effective. and you have to go more. mine where 6hour 4 hours 4hours then back to 6

ALWAYS go for the treatment, unless told otherwise by the Oncologist.

Both you and your mother are ASSUMING the cough and inflammation are a cold. This is not the time for your mother to self-diagnose. Go to the hospital, and know for sure what is going on in her body.

Only her Oncologist will know if she is healthy enough to receive the treatment.

Both my parents had cancer, and this was a constant situation that was not addressed/treated the same way every time.

It truly depends on the doctor.

Good Luck to your mother!

YES! When my son was on chemo we didn't take a break if he got sick. Just call ahead of time to see if they want you in the office/ clinic or in a room at the hospital. Every doctor is different when it comes to contagious diseases.
