Phina doesn't seem originally English. It might have come to English from some other language. Think of the name Josephina. It is not English in origin.

In order to say that I like a name, I have to like the meaning of it and/or the way it sounds. I don't know what Lamaya means but I like the way it sounds so yes, I like that name. The fact that it's a "black" name doesn't matter. Like I said, what matters to me is the meaning and the way it sounds. Lamaya sounds pretty and so does Victoria. So I can't say if I like "black" names because it's not a category. There are "black" names I like and "black" names I don't like. But I admit that I find many "black" names difficult to pronounce and many of them don't sound pretty to me. I don't care if they're Hawaiian or Arabic or whatever, if I don't like a name I just don't like it. Roberta is an English name and I don't like it. However, I do think that choosing neutral names for your children is the best thing to do and that's what I plan on doing. In my opinion, rare and exotic names are better as middle names. Giving your child many names (without overdoing it) is also smart because that way the kid can choose his/her name. Just because you want to give your kid some weird name doesn't mean he/she will like it and of course it could be the other way around. Some people with ordinary names wish they had names that were more rare. Oh and fyi, Danaye doesn't exist. The name is Danae, it's a GREEK name and it's pronounced Da-NA-ee. If you people can't pronounce our words and names, don't f u c k i n use them!
