I am not into revenge or even punishment but are some of the paultry penalties given out to killer divers just encouraging people to run down and kill cyclists and pedestrians.

£300 and two years ban. The driver may find it easier not to take avoiding action and wreck his £3000 car and broken leg, but better to run down the victim instead?

Your life is worth no more than the political expediency of whatever idiot politicians are in power at any given time.

An accident is an accident, they happen. However, where there are other factors then there has to be a punishment, otherwise there is no deterrent.

I lost my sister (on her way to pick up her 12 year old son from school) to a drunk, reckless, speeding driver. The Police were supportive. The CPS and the Judge wanted a quick and easy conviction. One Christmas in jail and he was out, free. His motoring ban expired as he left jail which was convenient as you can't drive in jail.

I will never have a sister again and my sisters son will never have a mother.

Justice doesn't exist in this Country anymore. When you are a victim, you are a victim not only of the crime but of the legal system. So yes, killer drivers are being encouraged in the UK.

It's probably a method of population control. England has over 250 people per square km, so I think their government may be encouraging the thinning of the herd.
