yeah, see a doctor. At age 12 you shouldn't self-remedy extra weight because a 12 year old is still growing and what may be extra fat now may be his or her body's way of preparing for a growth spurt. Or maybe not...a doctor can tell you what to do.

With a 12 year old you need to be very careful. The body will still be growing for quite a while. In addition, bone is being built. Taking care of the nutritional needs will pay off later in life. Ignoring them means a life of trouble.

First forget the word diet and think "healthy choices in food." Diet is temporary. Healthy choices will help for the rest of his/her life.

At this age 3 servings of calcium a day are necessary. Skim or low fat milk products are good, but so are broccoli, kale, and sardines. 5 servings of fruits and veggies a day. Avoid those with fatty sauces or sugary syrups. Whole grains cereals and breads are better than refined. Get rid of most candy, fast food, fried foods, and prepackaged snacks. Plan the food for the day. Make sure healthy choices are available. Avoid fat. Protein helps keep hunger away, include some in every meal or snack.

If activity is increased along with these changes, weight loss should follow. No one should lose weight too quickly. It is dangerous.

Well,
Just think about what you have in the day. I mean don't drink like 5 pops a day. Drink water about 3 times a day. Look Out for snacks. Like have fruit snack or a pop tart. Don't have brownies or chocolate. Only if it is diet chocolate. Eats some fruit and veggies. And go out for sports. L ove to swim. Try like basketball. I lost 5 pounds for playing basketball.

Drink lots of water instead of any other drinks. Take walks as much as you can, take your dog with you if you have one. Eat only til you are content not full, and space them out at least 4 hrs between meals. Instead of treats for deserts, eat fruits, they have sugars and sweet flavors naturally. Once you train your body on the right way to eat and stay on a regular regiment, and you should lose the weight you want and tone up too. Good luck to you.

If you drink soda, try to stay away from that, just empty calories. Also, try to limit portion sizes, that might be easier than totally excluding things from your diet, especially foods you love. And try walking more, that's the easiest exercise to get.

You can't go on a "diet" when you're on a growth spurt. You'll end up short. But i suggest u learn how to cook and you can easily search healthy recipes online or in your own cookbooks.(try kraftkitchens) You can check out you BMI on these sites and there are other tools too.

Honey you just need to get off of the couch and do a little excersize and eat smaller portions. Also if you eat lots of sweets and/or drink lots of sugary drinks cut back.

try to put him/her in different recreational sports...cut out junk food and fast food and soda. They should still eat as much as they want because theyre at a growing stage, but just cut out saturated fats and hydrogenated oils...instill good habits like eating whole wheat bread or nuts or fruits and vegetables.
