One of my friends was looking for her birth parents for 20 something years with no luck. Then she hired a private investigator and he located them in 10 days. I think the best thing to do will be to hire an investigator.

If you know her full name including her married name and maiden name and social security number you should be able to do a search on line at some of the people find sites. Another way is to look into the website for the high school she attended, she may have registered on the alumni site or reunion site. Why did you mom leave? Are you absolutely sure you want to find her and what baggage may come with the find? Didn't she keep up communication with any family members or friends? Good luck.

If you know her name, you can do searches thru directories, like yahoo people search.
Also, as mentioned earlier, myspace.com has a lot of members. Alot of missing friends and relatives are found there, if they are a member.
Sit down and talk to your dad. Let him know it is not that you are turning against him, you just want to know more about who you are, and that you want to meet her, not only for you, but for the children. Also, ask about the divorce, etc. It is possible there is a reason that is not being disclosed for not letting your see her. (prison, drugs, etc.)
It is possible that your mother or the courts stipulated that she was to have no contact until you were 18. It might not be all dad's fault for not looking.
There is no place to put in the ssn and find anyone, unless they are deceased. That is private information.
Good luck, and let us know if you find her.

you can start by going to the court house to the clerks office looking up her name you didn't specify if they were married. Also go to your local social security office with documents proof of your mother with her social security number, your birth certificate, that shows your mothers name and your dads name they can find out alot on that due to taxes, employment, explain your situation. If your father will tell you ask him where is the nearest town or the town she was last living in, that way you can go with that with a forwarding address. Also the social security will give the vital statics if she is married, etc. I wish you luck

look in the yellow pages that's how my teacher's sister found her real father. and also the smartest thing to do is go to two close police departments and before you go there ask your dad what was her name (get all the info he knows).and with that bring it to the police and see if they have any records on that person
