He's not. Sorry!

No, Jesus is not literally coming back to earth. He sacrificed his perfect human life on our behalf and taking it back would only nullify the sacrifice and put us back under the law of sin and death. He will, however, turn his attention to cleaning up the earth soon. We will know for certain that this clean up has begun when the governments close all of the false religions. The Bible says that God has put it in their minds to do it and that even they will be somewhat shocked once it has been accomplished. Also, be aware that there is nothing wrong with the literal earth--it is God's creation and it is only the world of wicked mankind and the things which have been created by them which will be destroyed. Sort of like in the days of Noah when the whole earth had to be washed clean only this time it won't be rain. Keep asking questions and keep reading your Bible to check any answers you get. May God bless and keep you as you walk with him.

OK: Biblical timeline: 1. The number of mature believers equals the number of fallen angels. When? Only God knows. 2. At that moment the "Rapture" will occur: Jesus Christ comes, the believers will meet Him in the air, leaving only unbelievers on the earth. The influence of the Holy Spirit is also withdrawn. 3. Three and a half years of peace, followed by three and a half years of abject misery, violence and war, uncontrolled evil because of the absence of the Spirit, which gives full reign to the evil of men with Satan having free reign. 4. Jesus Christ will come back with his armies ("hosts") of believers, defeating Satan and his forces (Armageddon), imprisoning him for 1000 years. This is known as the Millennium, a period of peace and prosperity under the rulership of Jesus Christ. 5. Satan is released from prison, gathers an army of dissatisfied people (we still have an old sin nature!) 6. Starts another war (Gog and Magog) and loses it. He and his human and angelic armies are locked away in the earth. 7. The earth and its satanic inhabitants are then destroyed by a nuclear reaction, that takes the whole of the universe with it. 8.A new universe and a new earth are then created to last for the rest of eternity.

Yes he really and truly will return as is prophesied.
I. The Time is Unknown
Matt. 24:36 - many sects try to predict the coming of Christ. But Jesus says, "no one but the Father knows the day and the hour." The sects that try to predict Christ's coming ignore these words.

Matt. 24:36 - we should also note that Jesus’ statement does not mean than Jesus does not know the day of His Second Coming. Jesus does know, because He is God. With this statement, Jesus explains that He chose to know by His human knowledge only that which He wanted to know for His mission of salvation. In other words, Jesus could have chosen not to know everything by His own human knowledge, but Jesus knew everything in His human knowledge through its hypostatic union to His eternal and infinite divine knowledge.

Matt. 24:44 – Jesus warns us that the Son of Man is coming at an hour we do not expect.

Matt. 25:13 – Jesus says “watch therefore, and be prepared, for you know neither the day nor the hour.”

Mark 13:35-37 – Jesus says “watch because you do not know when the Master of the House will come - watch!”

Luke 12:46 - the Master will come on a day and at an hour when He is not expected.

Acts 1:7 - Jesus says it is not for us to know the times or seasons which the Father has fixed by His own authority.

1 Thess. 5:2; 2 Peter 3:10; Rev. 3:3 - the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

James 5:7 - be patient until the coming of the Lord. Those who try to predict disregard this inspired teaching.

Rev. 22:20 - Jesus says He is coming soon, but He does not tell us when He is coming. Because Jesus says we do not know the day or the hour and will be surprised at His coming, it is silly, and disobedient, for people and groups to predict His coming. We, instead, need to be about the business of growing in holiness, so that we are prepared for our Lord when He comes again, no matter when that will be.

I see a mix of yes and no answers here. One that even said to make your own religion if you don't find one that fits. Christians are the only ones who believe that Jesus was the Son of God and died on the cross. He decended into hell where he paid the ultimate price - his blood - so that we wouldn't have to. On the third day he arose from the dead and assended into heaven where he sits on the right hand of God the Father and will come again to rule. The prophesies have been written and cannot be changed. The events wil come to pass as written and believers will know and be prepared.

Your first question of yourself should be: If I died today would I go to Heaven? If you cannot answer this for certain, please know that God loves you anyway and just by posting this question on Yahoo, you are blessed. This sort of forum gets the word out!!

This is what my Bible tells me

1 Thessalonians 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

4:17 Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Matthew 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

24:28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Revelation 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they [also] which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Yes... but not for at least 7 yrs... there has to be a time known as The Tribulation period first... then Christ will return and establish a rule here for a thousand year period... at the end of that time this earth will end and God will establish a new earth.

there is a bit more to it than that of course... that is the thumbnail version

In the Bible is says that Jesus will come down from the clouds to be the final judge. That He will come at a time when no one expects him to come. And at that time, yes, the world will end.

Yes he is coming and he is coming very soon these are the end times so we must be ready i suggest that if you do not have Jesus in your life that you invite him into your life because i would not want you to go to hell. Jesus loves you too much and doesn't want to see you burn either. read the bible and follow his word. before it's too late.

Nobody is coming and nobody is going! This is a belief system. Belief means --it is in your mind and spirit and not confronting you in "reality". Reality means you can touch, see, smell, hear --
Now, back to your direct question --we would like to think and hope and pray (yes, we do pray) that the world as you and I know it will be here forever. I rest this case with you, since you raised the question. Hope it helps.

What do YOU think?

That is a spiritual/religious question, and I truly hope you don't seek a solid answer from other people. The answers to ALL spiritual questions are within the individual.

Decide what you believe in your heart. Then seek out the religion that matches - and if you find none, create one.
